1. Agreement
These Terms govern your access to and use of OpenDistrict ("the Service"), a unified data platform operated by OpenDistrict ("we", "us"). By signing in or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.
2. The Service
OpenDistrict ingests data from sources you configure into a tenant-isolated event store, maintains derived analytics indexes (columnar OLAP and vector search), and provides SQL query, AI-assisted search, pipelines, and monitoring interfaces over that data. Features and limits may change as the Service evolves.
3. Early-access status
The Service is currently pre-production (early access). Availability, performance, and data durability targets are best-effort during early access. Do not use the Service as your sole copy of data you cannot afford to lose; keep your own exports of anything important. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes to this status.
4. Accounts and tenant isolation
Access requires an account authenticated through our identity provider (single sign-on). Each account belongs to a tenant, and tenant data is logically isolated at the database layer. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
5. Your data
You retain all rights to the data you ingest ("Customer Data"). You grant us the limited license needed to operate the Service: storing, indexing (including embedding for vector search), backing up, and displaying Customer Data to users of your tenant. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to ingest the data you submit and for configuring sources in compliance with their upstream terms.
6. Acceptable use
You will not, and will not attempt to:
- access another tenant's data, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service;
- ingest data that is unlawful, or that you lack rights to process;
- use the Service to send spam, malware, or to attack any third-party system;
- circumvent rate limits, quotas, or security controls;
- resell the Service without a separate written agreement.
7. Fees
The Service is provided without charge during early access. If we introduce paid plans, we will publish pricing and provide notice before any charge applies to your account.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, for security reasons, or as required by law, with notice where practicable. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; Sections 5 (your rights in Customer Data), 9–13 survive.
9. Data deletion
You can delete data at source granularity at any time from the product UI. Full tenant erasure — removal of your tenant's data across all stores — is available on request ([email protected]) and via the account data-deletion interface, subject to retention required by law and to backup rollover periods described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Warranties disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, even if advised of the possibility. Each party's aggregate liability arising out of these Terms is limited to the greater of one hundred USD (USD 100) or the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-product at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
